#24: Draw your Shoe

Gather Materials:

  • an artist’s journal, unlined notebook, or piece of paper
  • pencil or pen
  • a shoe
  • a timer

Today’s Exercise

Blind Contour draw your shoe

  • watch the video below
  • set a timer for 4 minutes
  • this is a blind contour exercise so no looking. If you’re afraid you’ll look at the drawing, use the shield paper
  • trace the outline of your shoe with your eye and slowly move the pen on the page

Reflections on the Exercise

  • Key is to take your time and slow down!
  • I still went too fast
